I'm picking the li...My experience is different. I'm picking the light green pods right now (pre-Memorial Day DC), pulling off the stem ends, pulling them into halves, and putting them in salads. They're OK. Not gummy, not that chewy, not that tasty either but then many salad ingredients aren't either, if you just taste one by itself.<br />When cooked, even blanched, they turn whitish and boring and soft.
